VPN76 Getting Started Guide
Set up your account and subscription first, then import a route into your client. This guide follows the steps in order and is suitable for first-time users. Use the contents below to jump to a specific step.
Create an account and open the user dashboard
Open the account page below and follow the prompts to set a username and password. VPN76 does not require an email address; you can create an account with a username and password. Choose a username that is easy to recognize but does not reveal personal information. Use a unique password that you do not share with other websites. Check your entries before submitting, and store your login details somewhere secure and manageable.
Once you’re done, open the user dashboard. If asked to sign in again, use the username and password you just created. Make sure you can see your account overview before choosing a plan. This helps prevent orders or subscriptions from getting mixed up if you switch between browser windows. If you already have an account, use the “Log in” link in the navigation instead of creating another one.
If you don’t have a plan yet, it’s normal not to see an active subscription in your account. Your account manages orders, clients, and subscriptions; creating an account does not connect your client. Choose a plan in the next step, then return to Account Overview to get your configuration. If you’ve forgotten your login details or can’t access the dashboard, see the account help in the Support Center. Never post your password in a public forum.
Choose a plan and confirm your payment
Open the Plans section in the user dashboard and decide whether you need a monthly subscription or a data plan based on how often you use the service. Monthly subscriptions suit regular use: ¥9.9/month includes 60GB, ¥18/month includes 250GB, and ¥28/month includes 500GB. Each plan’s data allowance resets monthly on the activation date, not at the start of the calendar month. If you mainly browse, read, or use the service occasionally, choose based on your actual usage. If you stream video often, keep in mind that data use depends on video quality and viewing time.
If your usage is occasional, compare the data plans: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, and ¥658 for 3000GB. Data remains available until used and never expires. The difference between a monthly subscription and a data plan is how long the data stays valid, so don’t compare them by total allowance alone. Before placing an order, check the plan name, price, and data details on the page. If you upgrade a monthly subscription partway through, the price difference is converted into remaining days; check the dashboard for the exact result. See the Plans page for full pricing.
Follow the order page to complete payment. Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT are supported. Once payment is complete, return to the same user dashboard and check your order and plan status. Don’t assume your plan is active just because the payment page has closed. If the status hasn’t changed, check the order details and refresh before trying again to avoid duplicate orders. For order issues, describe the problem in the support ticket area after signing in and include the relevant order information.
VPN76 supports unlimited devices and offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund policy. See the Refund Policy for details. This does not mean every device connects automatically; you’ll still need to install a client and import your subscription on each device. Once the dashboard shows your plan is active, continue to the next step to get your subscription link.
Get your subscription and prepare to import it
Return to Account Overview in the user dashboard and check your current plan and data status. Then look for the subscription or import option. A subscription link is not the address of an individual route; it lets the client retrieve route configurations. After importing, the client typically creates a list of routes to choose from. Use the same link to retrieve configuration updates later. There’s no need to copy routes one by one or enter server details manually.
If the dashboard has an import button for your installed client, follow the prompts to open the app. If your browser asks for permission to open an application, make sure the app name matches the client you intend to use. If the client isn’t installed yet or doesn’t open, copy the subscription link and import it after installing the client in the next step. A browser’s inability to open an app directly does not mean the subscription is invalid.
When copying the link, use the dashboard’s copy option to get the complete URL. Don’t select only the portion visible on screen if it has been shortened. Treat your subscription link as a personal access credential: don’t share it in group chats, public documents, or screenshots. When contacting support, describe the error and the steps you took. Hide the full link and any sensitive account information in screenshots. This guide does not display actual subscription URLs; get your configuration from the user dashboard after signing in.
After copying the link, there’s no need to paste it into a regular browser to test it. The content shown in a browser may be hard to read and does not replace checking the import in your client. Next, open the client for your platform and add the subscription through its remote subscription option. If you’ve already imported the same subscription, update the existing configuration to avoid duplicate entries with similar names.
Install a client for your platform and import your subscription
Start in the client downloads section of the user dashboard. Choose the version for your device’s operating system and read the platform instructions. You can sign in to download the clients for Windows, Android, macOS, and Linux without purchasing a plan; you’ll need an active plan to use a subscription. The iOS download option requires a purchased plan that has not expired. Don’t open installers for other platforms on your device, and don’t look for replacement downloads from untrusted sources.
Windows: Add a remote subscription
Sign in to the dashboard on your Windows device, download the Windows client, and install it. The first time you open it, look for an option such as “Configuration” or “Subscription Management.” Choose the option to add a remote configuration from a link, then paste in the complete subscription URL you copied. Give it a recognizable name, save it, and update it. When the available routes appear in the configuration, the client has read your subscription. Select this configuration before going to the connection controls; don’t close the window as soon as you’ve added it.
If your client has a system proxy option, enable it as described in the interface so your browser uses the proxy configuration. If you choose a connection mode that requires system permissions, read the prompt before confirming. Modes can work differently, so when you’re getting started, stick with the client’s default settings rather than changing several options at once. If another proxy tool is running, disconnect it first to avoid conflicting settings.
Android: Import your subscription and approve the VPN prompt
On your Android device, download the Android client from the dashboard and install it. Open the option for “Subscription,” “Configuration,” or importing from a link. Paste the URL, save it, wait for the update to finish, then select the configuration and the route you want to use. If Android warns about the installation source, make sure the file came from the user dashboard you just signed in to, then follow the system instructions. You don’t need to leave other security settings changed just to install the client.
When you connect for the first time, Android will usually ask to let the client establish a VPN connection. Check the app name and approve the request, then return to the client to check the connection status. If the connection drops when you switch apps or turn off the screen, check your device’s battery settings and allow the client to run in the background if needed. The setting may be called “Battery Saver” or “Background Activity” on your device. First verify that the connection and web access work normally, then adjust background settings so you can tell which step caused any issue.
iOS: Install the client and add your configuration as instructed in the dashboard
On your iPhone or iPad, open the downloads section in the user dashboard and confirm that your purchased plan has not expired. Then follow the dashboard instructions to get the iOS client. The iOS download uses the App Store; refer to the dashboard for the specific app and steps. After installation, return to the dashboard and use the corresponding import option. Alternatively, in a client that supports remote subscriptions, find “Configuration” or “Import from URL,” paste in your subscription, and update it. Don’t guess the server address in iOS Settings.
When the client connects for the first time, iOS may ask you to add a VPN configuration. Follow the prompt, then return to the app and connect. If you’ve used another VPN configuration, disconnect it first and check that the configuration you just imported is enabled. Even if the system shows a connection indicator, visit the service you want to use to verify access. The indicator only shows that the connection feature is running; it doesn’t confirm that the selected route and app access are working as expected.
macOS: Select a configuration, then connect
Download the macOS client from the user dashboard, install it, and open it as prompted by macOS. In the client’s configuration or subscription section, add a remote subscription from a link and select the configuration once the update succeeds. If you use the dashboard’s import button, your browser will try to open the app. If nothing happens, copy the link and import it manually; there’s no need to reinstall the client. Once the route list appears, select a route and enable the proxy or VPN feature provided by the client.
Depending on the connection method, macOS may request related system permissions. Follow the client’s instructions. When you’re done, disconnect from the client as usual; closing the window alone may not stop the connection. VPN76 also supports Linux. See the platform instructions in the dashboard for installation and import steps. After importing on any platform, continue with the connection check below; there’s no need to create another account.
Connect to a route and verify access
First, make sure the configuration you just updated is selected, then choose a region from the route list. When getting started, choose a route that suits the service you want to access instead of relying on its name to judge which is fastest. Connect in the client and wait for it to show that you’re connected or traffic is being routed. Then open a browser and visit the site you want to use. Reload pages that were already open. For apps running in the background, quit and reopen them so they establish a new connection.
Check connection status and service access separately. A successful status in the client means the connection process has completed; whether an app works can also depend on your account region, the service’s own rules, and current route conditions. Netflix, Disney+, and other streaming services may restrict content and playback rights regardless of the connected region. For more on how this works, read the Streaming Guide. This page focuses on getting basic access working.
If you can’t access a service, first check that the subscription updated successfully and your plan is active. Then check that the client’s proxy or VPN feature is actually enabled, that system permissions have been granted, and that no other connection tool is running at the same time. Keep the configuration unchanged while switching routes and reconnecting. Change only one thing at a time to make it easier to find the cause. Don’t delete your account, pay again, or reinstall every app as soon as an error appears.
To finish, disconnect in the client and refresh the same page to see whether access changes. Some pages are cached, so don’t rely on a single test. Reconnect and test again to confirm you can repeat the cycle: connect, visit the site, and disconnect. Once you know the process, everyday use usually means opening the client, checking the configuration, and connecting; you don’t need to copy the subscription again each time.
Still having trouble? Visit the Support Center and browse the connection and troubleshooting topics. For further help, sign in to the dashboard and open the support ticket area. Include your device’s operating system, client, the exact error message, and whether the issue occurred during import or connection. Hide your subscription link and password before submitting; include only the details needed to explain the problem.
